How to Use Google Keyword Planner Without a Credit Card
It all started with a post from Alice Emmett that really got me buzzed! It wasn’t anything that she said, but by what Google has done!
Further into the responses, Alice had some issues with her Google Adwords account and apparently Google has made it compulsory to set up an AdWords campaign in order to use the Google Keyword Planner! …or have they? Read more to find out!
I had some issues trying to run with my own Gmail account(as I already had my own Google Adwords Campaign running), so I decided to create a new account from scratch. And lo and behold, I was brought to the next screen:-
This is where I encountered the “guided setup” process. See that big blue button that says “continue”? DO NOT CLICK ON IT!
Instead, click on “Skip the guided setup.”
By skipping this step, you go directly to the page where you want to be, without entering your Credit Card details in the process!
What happened if I had already clicked on “Continue” you ask?
Well, then you’re out of luck and you will have to create a new Gmail account in order to get the fresh order of the process rebooted.
To do this go to: https://accounts.google.com/signup
But point to note, even if you wanna go ahead and key in your credit card details, you won’t be charged UNTIL you’re running a campaign or purchasing ads.
So, voila. Hopefully now, you’re able to use Google Keyword Planner without a credit card or official AdWords account! Wooooot!
Special thanks to Steven from techwyse.com, where I found this neat trick!
